Account book, 1782 Apr.-1787 Dec., containing general accounts of articles purchased and cash paid by Comfort Sands & Co., on account of the contractors of the moving army. Entries include names of suppliers, and payments for a wide variety of goods and services, such as tea, whiskey, flour, tallow, wine, rum, plumes, paper, hides, cartage and freightage, meat, various provisions, printing, cooperage, losses on gold, etc. Included are transactions with Udney Hay, Walter Livingston, Tench Francis, Daniel Parker, William Duer, Richardson Sands, David Waterman, and many others. The bulk of the entries span Apr.-Dec., with a few entries as late as 1787.
